My Journey Into Cryptocurrency
May 2025
In early 2019, I began trading stocks and investing into as many assets as I could handle. At the same time, it’s also been my goal to transition into the newly emerging cryptocurrency market and to begin accumulating as much Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) as I could. I ended up starting the process buying the dips when prices would go down and/or after I marked up charts using Tradingview.com to help determine when prices were undervalued. BTC & ETH are still considered to be my “End Game” cryptos and I strongly believe in the technology they offer which provides a tremendous amount of solutions to all aspects of the world in their own way. The only problem (or what I thought could have been a problem at the time) is that crypto hasn’t been accepted by the masses and it was too risky. I found that this is absolutely not the case.
This year in January 2021, I came to realize that by putting all of my eggs into just stocks and my two “End Game” cryptos, I could potentially be missing out on some life changing opportunities that I’ve seen others in this space have and soon found that there’s literally a whole new digital world out there, slowly gaining traction to the start of crypto mass adoption since the 2017/2018 boom. After being glued to a computer screen for months over end, I’ve come to truly believe this time in which we’re living in now to be the biggest opportunity our lifetime and that’s investing early into the new digital world connected by Cryptography and Blockchain technology.
The obvious importance of crypto in my opinion as a whole when it comes to you and I, is having the ability to utilize a form of currency not owned by the government, but owned by us, the people. A form of currency that’s digital, decentralized, and nearly impossible to counterfeit or double-spend. After digging into other smaller crypto assets and learning more about their many different purposes, I started seeing trends that stuck out to me. These trends include cryptos also known as Altcoins, which have an alternative purpose other than being a peer to peer transaction in the form of a payment such as BTC. These specific alt coins I’ve found offer a utility that consists of extremely fast transaction times, uses a minuscule amount of energy per transaction, has a limited supply of coins available to the public, a history of positive growth, and one of the most important trends of them all – altcoins that are early enough in the game that have not yet been listed on main exchanges in order for investors to purchase such as Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, Crypto.com. The benefits of acquiring these altcoins early is crucial to all investors’ success before their prices explode in the future.
All in all, within the time it’s taken me to write this, the crypto market took a fairly drastic hit downwards due to various influencers such as Elon Musk and the general media as a whole, but makes learning and investing into crypto even more of an opportunity to get in this market nearing 3-4 month lows from their all-time highs. This specific journey will have its own emotional highs and lows, but if you continue to accumulate the cryptos as described above on a consistent basis and doubling down on your investments when the market corrects itself to a lower price, the greater the potential for the ultimate goal. Time and money freedom.
